Learn here, how to flash your T-Mobile to AT&T in some simple steps. If you are using the wireless service of T-Mobile at present but you are willing to change it to AT&T, then you are required to make your phone ready to accept the AT&T SIM card.
Usually, this process is known as “unlocking” which is incorrectly termed as “flashing” sometimes. Generally, the word “flashing” is used for the procedure of reprogramming any CDMA phone in order to work with another CDMA network. For instance, in case of switching services from Verizon to Sprint.
The GSM network uses the SIM cards while the CDMA network does not. So, you need to unlock your T-Mobile phone to use it with the AT&T network, since it was programmed to only accept the T-Mobile SIM cards before it was purchased by you.
Step 1.
You need to call AT&T in order to launch a fresh wireless account. Speak to the AT&T representative and tell him that you want to use your existing cell phone.
Step 2.
Dial “*#06#” using the keypad of your phone and note down your phone's IMEI number which appears. You may also get this IMEI number under the battery of your phone in its battery compartment.
Step 3.
Further, to flash your T-Mobile to AT&T, you need to call the T-Mobile customer service and request for the unlock code of your phone. To obtain the code, you must make sure that you have bought your phone from T-Mobile and you have been the customer of its postpaid plan for more than 40 days or prepaid plan for at least 60 days.
In case you do not have any of these eligibilities, you need to go to the website which provides the unlock codes in lieu of a certain fee, such as Global Unlock, GSM Liberty or Unlock to Talk.
Step 4.
Provide the online code retailer or the T-Mobile your phone model and IMEI number. The online code retailer will ask for a payment information and both retailer and T-Mobile will ask for your email address. However, T-Mobile gives the unlock codes to the eligible customers for free. The T Mobile customer service representative may provide you the unlock code over the phone call.
Step 5.
Obtain the unlock code of your phone from your email or you may note it down in case the T-Mobile gives it on the phone.
Step 6.
Switch off your phone and pull out the battery and your SIM card. Put in the AT&T SIM card inside the SIM slot and put back the battery and then switch on your phone.
Step 7.
As your phone turns on, enter the unlock code when you are prompted to do so. Call on “611” to ensure that you are able to reach the AT&T customer service instead of reaching the T-Mobile customer service. Hence, you may easily flash your T-Mobile to AT&T without any hassle.
